Merger arbitrage tracker

Merger Spreads is a live merger arbitrage tracker for announced M&A deals and spin-offs. It shows the target’s market price next to the deal price so you can read the spread and a simple annualized yield without building the sheet yourself. The table and calculator are free. Quotes come from third-party market data and public filings; they can lag, and this is not investment advice.

How to read the table

Gross spread is (deal price − market price) / market price. A positive spread means the stock still trades below the offer. Annualized yield scales that spread by time: spread × 365 / days to expected close. It is a shorthand, not a promised return — deals slip, get recut or break. Regulatory status and risk are labels for the approval path, not a forecast. Click a row to load the deal in the calculator.

Where the data comes from

Share prices come from Yahoo Finance and can be delayed. Deal terms (offer price, expected close, termination fees and status) are checked by hand against the companies’ filings and announcements; each row shows the date its terms were last checked and links to the documents. Terms that have not been re-checked recently are flagged, and eventually hidden, instead of being shown as if they were current. Where a deal has no fixed price or date, for example a stock deal whose value moves with the acquirer’s share price, the spread is left blank rather than estimated. Risk labels are our own qualitative view, and completion probability and break price are never pre-filled: the calculator only uses the numbers you enter.

Frequently asked questions

What is a merger spread?
The gap between the live share price and the cash or mix the acquirer is offering. Tight spreads usually mean the market sees high odds the deal closes; wide spreads usually mean delay or break risk is priced in.
How is annualized yield calculated?
Gross spread × 365 / days to the expected close date shown on the row. If the close date moves, the yield moves with it.
Are the prices real time?
The dashboard refreshes on its own from third-party quotes. Prints can be delayed around the open, close, a halt or a missing ticker. Confirm size and last trade with your broker.
Is this investment advice?
No. Merger Spreads is an informational tool. Merger arbitrage can lose money if a deal is blocked or the target trades down to a break price.
